Commitment to International Collaboration

The Grosvenor Center encourages and is part of a permanent international collaboration among organizations and individuals to promote geographic education and contribute to the creation of global perspectives. This commitment to international cooperation is based on The International Charter on Geographical Education (IGU|UGI, 2009). The Grosvenor Center embraces the Helsinki Accord (1977), which encourages the promotion of bilateral and multilateral exchange of experience and collaboration in teaching, research, and scientific development in geographic education.

In order to develop teaching, research, and scientific development in geography education the Grosvenor Center follows the Lucerne Declaration on Geographical Education for Sustainable Development (2007).

The Grosvenor Center encourages, participates and develops, among others, the following activities:

  • Community of practice in geographical education
  • Online education in geographical education
  • International conferences and workshops
