Links to geographically oriented publication outlets

As stated on our homepage, the James and Marilyn Lovell Center for Environmental Geography and Hazards Research promotes the principle that many minds working together can find imaginative solutions to the challenges facing our fragile planet. In support of that conviction, we offer the following list of journals as a service to the geographic community. By providing this information, we hope to assist the pursuit of scholarship designed to improve our understanding of, and the policies directed toward, Earth's environment.

Below are more than 275 professional outlets either known to publish articles by geographers or that have been proven to be receptive to such work. We've added 50 listings since our initial launch of this page last February. These sites were compiled from a Web search, pp. 100-101 of the center's Occasional Paper No. 1, and from e-mails sent to the center. We have also added an "Other" category at the bottom of the listing, representing portals to sites offering non-academic publication opportunities and/or compilations of listings within a subdiscipline of geography.

Currently, the material is organized alphabetically. If you locate an error, are aware of any URL that should be added to/deleted from the list, or would like to suggest ways to improve the listing, please contact me at: JMLC@txstate.edu.
