SAGE is hosting the second annual San Antonio-Austin Geographic Educators Conference on Saturday,
September 22, 2007, at Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas. Titled
"Geography: Here, There, Everywhere," this conference will be an opportunity for area geography and social studies educators to collaborate with each other on exciting new ways to motivate their students and to further their own education.
Immediately following the conclusion of the conference, participants will have the exciting opportunity to tour the Canyon Lake Gorge on a tour led by Cinde Jimenez, Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority. The Canyon Lake Gorge was formed when floodwaters escaped over the spillway of the Canyon Reservoir during the flood of 2002.
The Canyon Gorge trip will be an opportunity to see water resources "in action," but is limited to the first 25 people to sign up.
