Resource Overview

 

The resources in this module will assist you in helping your students understand the environmental challenges of the region; primarily deforestation and pollution.  A few of the resources cited focus on issues specific to Southeast Asia, but others address topics globally.  Among the resources in this module you will find:

Video presentations [under construction] and suggested readings and visual media that introduce students to the various forms of environmental degradation across the globe.  The video, "Environmental Degradation," produced by TAGE provides an excellent introduction to the topic for teachers and students.

case study that focuses the Grasberg Mineral District located on New Guinea in Indonesia.   

lesson plan in which students will produce their own “documentary” introducing an environmental issue in the region and presenting possible solutions.
